China's BOE will take the lead in commercial 8K LCD leading Japan and South Korea

Not long ago, Japanese engineers publicly stated that 8K will be the ultimate technology and cannot be surpassed. I'm not sure if what he said is true or not, at least until we use 8K first.
According to a report from Nikkei BP, Chinese LCD manufacturer BOE (BOE) will be the first to sell commercial 8K LCD screens in the world, and the first customers will be Japanese medical institutions. It is understood that BOE will start mass production and supply this summer, and the price is expected to be around 20 million yen (about 1 million yuan).
Headquartered in Beijing, they ranked first in the world in the share of LCD displays for smartphones and tablets last year, with three 8.5-generation panel production lines in China, according to BOE's official website. In the industry, the replacement cycle of display screen resolution is generally six years. For example, the brilliant period of 1080p is 2006-2012, and 4K display screen is expected to reach its peak in 2018, which is also the reason why major manufacturers take the lead in layout.
However, according to South Korean media, Samsung and LG will not be able to mass produce 8K panels until next year. They are solving the problems of low brightness, high power consumption, poor penetration and high cost. ■
